Akagi Tatewaki

Aether • Midgardsormr

From a distance, Akagi appears to be just another young adventurer- slightly aloof, overwhelmingly curious, and with boundless enthusiasm for the next expedition.

ABOUT

Age: 19 (ARR) 23 (EW)
Race: AuRa Raen/ Xaela
Gender: He/She/They

Akagi is headstrong in his sense of justice, and can sometimes see things in black and white. His inability to hold his tongue can end him up in heaps of trouble, as well as his tendency to charge headfirst into danger.

On quite the flipside— outside of battle, one could consider them shy, and lacking in many social graces. Tall, quiet, and with a resting face that intimidates most who meet them— they find that speaking to others is sometimes more difficult than fighting.

Backstory

Born just outside Doma, Akagi was raised in relative solitude. With just themselves and their mother, early childhood made Akagi unsure, and clingy— but extremely curious. Eventually, after working up the nerve, they wandered into Doma, where they met a much younger Hien and Yugiri. They grew close, and dreamed of repelling the Garlean Empire that held their home in a choke hold. Their yearning was cut short, however, after their mother learned of their intent to join the resistance. The next morning they were on a boat headed to Eorzea, and— their mother thought— safely far away from the conflict at home.

It was during the many years at sea among pirates that Akagi first held a sword. They showed promise, and upon landing in Limsa Lominsa shortly after the calamity, set out for Ul'dah— and the Gladiator's guild there. With training they would return home, and liberate their people no matter what.
